Celebrity launched its fifth ship in the Edge Class series, and it features more new offerings than any prior ship in the fleet.

We were onboard Celebrity XCel for its very first sailing with passengers, and we’re taking you to all the spaces we know you want to see. From new dining venues to secret spaces, an all-new spa experience, and more, we’ve got you covered.

The Bazaar

This venue at the very back of the ship has a whole new look, starting with an immersive tunnel entrance. This area is more than just a hallway — it’s meant to make you feel like you’ve been transported to an entirely new place as you step into the colorful Bazaar.

The first area you’ll see is Market at the Bazaar, a series of retail stalls selling specialty soaps, cooking ingredients and tools, purses and bags, other accessories, and clothing. There is no high pressure sales here, just a fun place to browse with helpful and friendly team member stationed in case you have questions or would like to purchase something.

The Bazaar also features a casual dining venue called Spice, a cafe-style restaurant offering menu items like build-your-own bowls and paninis. Dining at Spice is included in your cruise fare, and it does not require reservations. Check the Celebrity app for this venue’s hours, as they vary. Our favorite space in the Bazaar is the brand-new restaurant, Mosaic. This is a specialty venue with an additional charge that offers dinner and a tasting menu.

We dined here for our anniversary dinner, and our top favorite menu items were the jerk pork dumplings, corn ravioli, and the incredible bread service. If you want to dine at Mosaic, you can make a reservation on the Cruise Planner section of the Celebrity website or in the Celebrity Cruises app. Advanced reservations are highly recommended here, as seating is limited. This is a can-not-miss experience in our opinion. You’ll even get a sweet little surprise delivery in your cabin after experiencing dinner here.

The Spa

Another space that’s been reimagined on Celebrity XCel is the Spa. It now features an expanded salon where you can schedule a blowout, manicure, pedicure, and other services.

The Sea Thermal Suite is the biggest update to Celebrity’s onboard spa. A brand-new offering here is the Hydra Room, a therapeutic H2O experience designed to relax and restore guests. Xcel has also introduced a new use of the outdoor space at the very front of the ship, called the Vitamin D Deck. This space offers views of the ocean, with places to lounge and get some sun when the weather is good. One important thing to note is that it gets very windy here, so it may not be ideal for reading a paperback book. The Sea Thermal Suite also offers a salt room, an infrared sauna, a mist room, a hammam room, and warmed stone loungers with a view of the Vitamin D deck. Daily or full-cruise passes can be purchased pre-cruise or onboard the ship.

The Club featuring the Attic, the Annex, and a very special Photobooth

The upstairs area of The Club now has plenty of fun activities for kids at heart. You can shoot some pool, play darts, or find a favorite arcade classic.

If you’re looking for a more exclusive setup for your group, you can also reserve a private room experience in this space just off The Attic. Options for your room set up include: the Ultimate Golf and Sports Simulator, Personal Karaoke Party, Game Day streaming, Movie Night, and a Celebrations Lounge. Prices vary, but you can have up to 10 included guests, and you can add up to 5 additional guests for $35 each. You’ll have a host for your 2.5-hour experience, as well as included food and beverages, with the option to further customize for an additional cost. You’ll receive a menu of items to pick from once you’re onboard and will connect with the Shore Excursions team to finalize your plans.

IYKYK (If You Know You Know)

Make sure to visit the very special photo booth on the first floor of The Club.

You’ll get to pose for three photos and, if you visit after 5 pm, you’re in for an extra special experience. That’s all we will say about this, but do not skip it. We were so impressed by this major level-up of the Celebrity brand.

Bora

The back of the ship has a new restaurant concept called Bora. This specialty dining venue is open for brunch and dinner, and the menu features a mix of Mediterranean options. Our brunch started with a live musician and a bottomless Bloody Mary bar.

Our favorite menu items were the Feta & Fig Sourdough Toast, the Steak & Eggs, as well as the surprise white chocolate Nutella croissant served for a sweet treat at the end of the meal. Celebrity Flagship

Celebrity super-fans will love the new Celebrity Flagship space. Billed as part museum, part retail, this is the place to celebrate the brand. You’ll find things like logo merchandise and vintage collectables not available anywhere else, a place to cast your vote about onboard offerings and an incredible replica of the ship.

Poolest Day Ever

Celebrity has launched a new party called “the Poolest Day ever” across its fleet. Our weather wasn’t the best for a pool day, but there were cute photo backdrops, a pop-up bar, and fun floats to help create the pool party vibe.

Celebrity Brought Back the Classics

Popular spaces from previous Edge series ships are featured on XCel, including the Magic Carpet, Sunset Bar, and the Martini Bar.
