Celebrity River Cruises Overview
Celebrity Cruises has launched a brand-new concept, Celebrity River Cruises, with two river ships to debut in 2027. The brand’s first two ships, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, are new builds that will sail on the Danube and Rhine Rivers in Europe. An additional eight new ships are on order to join their fleet in the following seasons. Celebrity has reimagined what river cruising looks like with an all-new suite class, innovative uses of outdoor space, more dining options than most competitors, and many of the signature elements the Celebrity Cruises brand is known and loved for on the oceans.
Celebrity River Cruises Fleet
The Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker will feature more outdoor space than most other river ships, offering guests a front-row seat to Europe’s breathtaking river landscapes. Celebrity has announced stunning ship features, including an infinity edge pool and cantilevered Magic Edge dining pods, said to float above the river. These new amenities bring a fresh approach to river cruising unlike anything on the rivers today.
Celebrity River Dining Options
Onboard dining will be destination-driven with eight restaurants and bars. As part of Celebrity’s guest-experience focus, there will even be flexible all-day dining options as well as healthy fare available. Fans of Celebrity ocean ships will also be delighted to know that familiar venues, including the Martini Bar, Café al Bacio, and Sunset Bar, will be serving up regional flavors that evolve throughout each itinerary.
Skylight Infinite Balcony Suite
The one-of-a-kind Skylight Suite is designed to bring the river and the sky view right to you. The ceiling window opens to the stars or closes for privacy, letting guests choose how much light and view to invite into their suite. A king-size bed with plush linens, a spa-inspired bathroom, butler service, and a personalized minibar make this suite a perfect place to relax and recharge after a day exploring in port.

Who is Celebrity River for?
River cruising continues to rise in popularity as travelers seek more intimate and bespoke experiences that are authentic to the destinations they visit. With smaller ships, river cruises can often bring guests right into the heart of the destination, maximizing their time to truly experience local cultures. Celebrity River Cruises will be a premium offering, with its closest competitors being lines such as Tauck and AmaWaterways. Viking is arguably the most well-known river cruise line, so it will also likely be a competitor, even though Celebrity River Cruises includes more amenities in the cruise fare.
Staterooms will be available in double occupancy, with no triple or quad guest rooms. The river cruise line will also have a minimum age requirement of at least four years old to sail. Celebrity River Cruises’ itineraries will be geared toward adult guests and will not offer kids’ programming like their ocean cruises do.
