Celebrity River Cruises Overview
Celebrity Cruises has launched a brand-new concept, Celebrity River Cruises, with two river ships to debut in 2027 and eight more to follow in 2028. The brand’s first two ships, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, are new builds that will sail on the Danube and Rhine Rivers in Europe. Celebrity has taken a fresh approach, reimagining what river cruising looks like. The Celebrity riverboat fleet will offer an all-new suite class, innovative uses of outdoor space, more dining options than most competitor river cruise lines, and signature elements guests love about their Edge Series ocean ships.
Celebrity River Fleet
The Celebrity Compass, Seeker, Boundless, Roamer, and Wanderer will feature more outdoor space than most other river ships, offering guests a front-row seat to Europe’s breathtaking river landscapes. Celebrity Cruises’ modern river fleet will feature an infinity edge pool and cantilevered Magic Edge dining pods, said to float above the river for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. This fresh approach is a strategic use of space, providing guests with more ways to enjoy their river cruise experience.
Celebrity River Dining Options
Onboard dining will be destination-driven with eight restaurants and bars. As part of Celebrity’s guest-experience focus, there will even be flexible all-day dining options, as well as healthy fare available. Fans of Celebrity ocean ships will also be delighted to know that familiar dining venues and lounges, including the Martini Bar, popular coffee spot Café al Bacio, and Sunset Bar, will be available on their river fleet.
Celebrity’s riverboats will feature unique cantilevered Magic Edge pods, offering a one-of-a-kind dining experience with regionally inspired cuisine.
Celebrity River Cabins and Suites
Celebrity’s river cruise cabins and suites feature elevated, modern touches. A neutral motif is used to ensure guests feel comfortable and like they’re at home. Offering generous in-room amenities, all guests will enjoy a complimentary stocked mini bar, and butler service is offered in the suite category.

Who is Celebrity River Cruises for?
River cruising continues to rise in popularity as travelers seek more intimate and bespoke experiences, authentic to the destinations they visit. With smaller ships, river cruises can bring guests right into the heart of the destination, maximizing your time to truly experience local cultures. Celebrity River Cruises will be a premium offering, with its closest competitors including Tauck and AmaWaterways. Viking is arguably the most well-known river cruise line, so it will also likely be a competitor, even though Celebrity River Cruises includes more amenities in the cruise fare.
Staterooms will be available in double occupancy, with no triple or quad guest rooms. Guests ages 4 and above are welcome aboard Celebrity’s riverboats, but the fleet's lack of triple or quad cabins will likely mean there will be few children onboard. Celebrity Cruises’ river itineraries will be geared toward adult guests and will not offer kids’ programming, unlike their ocean product, which features Camp at Sea.
Celebrity Cruises guests will earn Captain’s Club loyalty points, whether cruising on the oceans or rivers.
